The final decision on calls for an overhaul of Ilkley Parish Council wards is expected from Bradford councillors on Thursday.

Bradford Council's Keighley Area Committee will reconsider a draft recommendation to make no change to the four wards, following a second consultation held as part of the Community Governance Review.

The committee heard a report on the review in November.

It held a second consultation process, suggesting that the ward boundaries should not be changed, and giving members of the community the chance to make representations about this.

The consultation ended on January 7, and no public or political responses were received, according to a report due to go before the Keighley committee.

The review was initiated as a result of Ilkley resident and Labour party activist Andrew Dundas collating a 1,300-plus signature petition, calling for a rethink of ward boundaries.

District councillors are being asked to make their decision on the review, based on one of the original draft recommendation options.

These included: * making no changes to the current electoral arrangements * adopting a submission by the petitioner and others * adopting a submission by a member of Ilkley Parish Council who was not acting on behalf of the council as a whole.
