Indie rockers The Moons (pictured) are supporting Ocean Colour Scene at the Britpop veterans’ gig in Bradford next week.
Fronted by Paul Weller’s keyboard player Andy Crofts and featuring Chris Ketley of the recently disbanded Rakes, the Leeds band craft “soulful slices of classic English pop”.
Taking a traditional 1960s sound and weaving in influences as diverse as XTC and The Specials, their material sits comfortably alongside contemporary groups like The Coral, The Zutons and The Bees.
Their new single, Nightmare Day, was released yesterday and debut album Life On Earth is out on March 15.
Catch The Moons, and Ocean Colour Scene, at St George’s Hall on Monday, February 22. For tickets, ring (01274) 432000.
