Chefs at a Bradford hotel have been getting ready to go flipping mad tomorrow as they prepare to make hundreds of pancakes.
Craig Thorpe, chef de partie at the Great Victoria Hotel, in Bradford city centre, said the crepe suzette had probably been the most popular pancake on Shrove Tuesday during his four years at the hotel.
He said: “We do a special every year and we do sell quite a lot. The flipping can go wrong sometimes – you can drop the odd one, but I have been doing it for a long time now, so you don’t drop them often.”
Kitchen staff will also find themselves competing against each other today and tomorrow to see who can sell the most pancakes.
