An inspection of Saltaire Primary School has found it is performing satisfactorily.
Ofsted inspectors attended the school, on Albert Road, in mid-January and awarded it the same grade as its last inspection in November 2006.
It is a rapidly improving school, according to the report, but in too many lessons insufficient opportunities are given to encourage pupils to engage in activities which will increase their own learning. As a result, pupils tend to lose concentration and their progress slows.
The curriculum and pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development are praised in the report, but pupils need more specific instructions about how to improve when teachers mark their work, it says.
