Sheep farmer, David Airey of New Bridge Farm on Keighley Moor, also wants people to think twice before releasing them.
He is backing the National Farmers’ Union call for more control over the paper lanterns, which contain a candle and are released at birthdays and weddings.

Mr Sebo, 67, said: “I think they should be banned.”
