A Bradford primary school has been transformed from failing to good with outstanding features.
Ofsted inspectors have praised the performance of Southmere Primary School in Great Horton, three and a half years after it was put in the special measures category.
The school was lifted out of the failing category in June 2008 and a report received by the school this week judged it to be good overall, with outstanding features.
The report states: “All pupils, whatever their circumstances, make good progress and are keen, enthusiastic learners.”
Head teacher Hayley Marshall said: “We’re delighted with this report as it reflects how we feel about the school.
“We are already working hard on accelerating learning and improving attendance.”
