Youngsters at Lidget Green Primary school were out in force yesterday, helping make Bradford’s roads safer.
The pupils handed out road safety leaflets they designed to motorists caught speeding in Cemetery Road.
Their efforts were part of a day of action, run by Little Horton and Great Horton Neighbourhood Policing Team, which saw 26 fixed penalty notices issued – the majority for not wearing seat belts.
Officers also issued two court summons, stopped three vehicles for having prohibited wheels or lights, seized an uninsured Range Rover and questioned 11 children playing truant.
NPT PC David Bates said: “One of our local priorities that has been set by us and local people is speeding and general traffic offences. I hope that by using the road safety leaflets we can get drivers to take notice.”
Officers also found drugs at a house in Loughrigg Street, West Bowling.
