The Lord Mayor of Bradford’s Appeal, which has so far raised £25,697, is being bolstered by donations from the district’s restaurants.
Bradford and District Senior Power and the Little Heroes cancer charity, the chosen charities of Lord Mayor Councillor John Godward, are benefiting from monthly Dining Club events which see restaurants donate half their profits from an evening’s dining to the good causes.
Owners of the Shama Restaurant in Bingley have given £1,000 to the appeal, taking the total raised by Dining Club nights to £2,758.
Shama co-owner Ghulam Rubani said: “The charities are wonderful causes and I am glad this money will be able to help.”
The Lord Mayor’s Dining Club will be at Chaplin’s Bistro in Haworth on Wednesday, and the Aagrah, Shipley, on March 10. Tickets cost £15. To book, phone (01274) 434965.
