A fundraising event will be held in Guiseley to raise money for a cats protection group hit by the recession.
Wharfe Valley Cats Protection has been trying to help more abandoned pets while less money has been coming in.
Spokesman Graham Hoult said: “The economic downturn has affected us with greater numbers of abandoned pets at the same time as a reduction in donations.”
Now it is hoped that people will give generously at a book and jumble sale at Guiseley Baptist Church, Oxford Road, on Saturday.
Admission is free but donations are welcome at the event, which runs from 10am to 1pm. Refreshments will be available with disabled facilities and access.
