This time next year Tracey Spilsbury and Rachel Brockhouse will have climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
But first they have a mountain to climb to raise £4,300 each to take part in the trip.
The colleagues at Shipley greeting card firm The Regent Group are appealing to the generous people of Bradford to help them raise the money for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity which supports and improves the lives of people affected by cancer.
The 40-year-olds decided to sign up to the challenge, which takes place in January 2011, in memory of their colleague Doreen Cothliss, who died in November 2008, aged 60 from bone cancer.
Tracey said: "We lost a dear friend just over 12 months ago and we wanted to do something. She never told us she had cancer, she was a very private lady, a lovely lady and she worked tirelessly raising money for charity.
"It was a shock that we lost her - she was so brave and we wanted to do something adventurous and push ourselves to raise lots of money for charity.
"We have to raise £4,300 each so it is an immense amount of money and we would appreciate any help to achieve it."
