Gridlocked traffic brought a nightmare for those struggling to cope with the morning commute around the Bradford district today.
Some travellers reported journey times of an hour and 40 minutes to drive the seven miles from Bingley to Bradford city centre.
The repair work at Ireland Bridge - set to continue for six months - is being partially blamed for pushing traffic on to different routes around Bingley, causing particular congestion around the Bingley By-pass.
Routes into the city were choked with traffic long after the usual rush hour period - even as late as 10am cars were bumper-to-bumper along Toller Lane.
But there were also delays south of Bradford city centre, with people travelling into Bradford along routes from Calderdale and Kirklees reporting long delays.
