Just when Joanne Abrahams thought her birthday celebrations were over for another year, she scooped a £51,000 jackpot playing on-line bingo.
The 44-year-old mother-of-three, of Tyersal, Bradford, had put the Wink Bingo game on auto-play while sorting out her daughter’s car insurance on the phone.
“I was chatting away to this woman about insurance when I heard a noise outside so I went to the window to look out.
“When I got back and looked at the screen I saw ‘Congratulations’ flash up and I said ‘Oh my God I’ve just won the jackpot’.
“She laughed and ‘I said no I’m not kidding I’ve just won £51,000’.”
This is the third win Mrs Abrahams has had on Wink Bingo in two months. At the start of December she won £7,600 and four weeks later picked up £3,900 – she has only been playing it for eight months.
“It must be beginner’s luck. I couldn’t speak, I was shaking. It just doesn’t register at first. I had to celebrate with two paracetamol!”
