Sunglasses would have come in useful at Wilsden Primary School yesterday.

Children and staff paid at least £1 to go to school in brightly-coloured clothes as part of a fundraising rainbow day.

Donations totalled about £650 for charities who are providing aid to earthquake survivors in Haiti.

School spokesman Sharon Dominik said: “We have all been very moved by the images we have seen and things we have heard on the news.”
