THE vastly experienced Trevor Storton has joined Guiseley as assistant manager to Neil Parsley.

Born on The Wirral not too far from Parsley's Liverpool home Storton played for Tranmere Rovers 118 times before being taken to Liverpool by legendary manager Bill Shankly.

Storton found it difficult to break into a team that included the likes of Tommy Smith, Emlyn Hughes, Chris Lawler, Kevin Keegan, Ray Clemence, John Toshack and Ian Callaghan and made only five league appearances and 12 games in all over two seasons for the Reds.

He did however make his debut for them against Leeds United in September 1972 before moving on to Chester City. He played almost 500 games for Chester.

He played in back to back FA Trophy finals with Telford in 1988 and 1989. He had a spell as assistant manager to Ronnie Glavin at Frickley.

Trevor was coach and then manager at Chorley. He scouted for Celtic before becoming manager at Bradford Park Avenue in 1997.

He had a short spell at Droylsden in 2004.

After leaving Droylsden he was a regular visitor at Guiseley's games at Nethernoor Park last season.
