Tribute has been paid to a 15-year-old girl who was found dead on Tuesday evening.

Aimee Wellock, whose body was discovered in a field at Bradford, was a pupil at Parkside School, Cullingworth.

This week Parkside head teacher Dr Tony Rickwood said a special assembly would be held in her honour.

He added: "Aimee had been a student here since September 2001.

She was in year 10 and had this year begun her GCSE courses in all the core subjects, plus her own choices of dance, textiles, art and history.

"She was very committed to her study of dance, both within and outside of school. She performed in many shows and displayed both skill and an infectious charm throughout her performances.

"She will be very much missed by the students and staff at Parkside, and all of us at the school wish to offer our deepest sympathy to Aimee's family.

"The school will hold a special assembly, with performances and readings from the students, to express our feelings of sadness, but also to pay our respects to Aimee in a way she would have enjoyed."

In a statement issued through the police, Aimee's parents, Alan and Jackie Wellock, and 19-year-old brother James, said they were "absolutely devastated and at a complete loss".

They added: "Aimee was a typical teenager, full of life and vitality. She loved dancing and had attended dance classes since she was eight years old. She was due to start her GCSEs in September and after that she wanted to go to dance college."

Aimee's body was found on a grassy bank close to houses, between Canford Drive, Allerton, and popular beauty spot Chellow Dene, just before 9pm on Tuesday. She lived nearby.

Yesterday a 15-year-old boy and three girls -- aged 15, 17 and 19 -- who were being questioned by police in connection with the death, were released on police bail pending further inquiries and the results of medical examinations on Aimee .

It is believed there had been an altercation between two groups of youths, both male and female, in a field.

A few minutes later Aimee walked a short distance and collapsed.

Police said post-mortem tests revealed Aimee had a serious medical condition but the cause of death was still unknown.

The results of medical tests were awaited.
