Actresses Denise Welch and Melanie Kilburn are among the celebrities attending a charity ball in aid of cancer sufferers in Bradford.

The Bradford Cancer Support Annual Midsummer Ball includes a grand auction - with lots ranging from a scroll used in a Harry Potter movie to the use of a chef for a night.

Denise Welch will be attending the event with former Coronation Street star Melanie Kilburn, who has also appeared in Down To Earth.

"Melanie's best friend works at Bradford Cancer Support and she asked her to attend," said fundraiser Linda Enderby.

"Melanie asked her co-stars in Down to Earth along too and they were delighted to accept."

"We have been very fortunate in getting celebrities to attend our events and this is due to the hard work of Kath Crowe," said Linda.

"Our guests love to meet 'celebs' and have the opportunity to be snapped with them."

The stars will be helping auctioneer Andrew Maclaughlan with the grand auction on the night.
