Parishioners will be marking 100 Christmases by taking to the streets in a walking Nativity play.
St Peter’s Church in Shipley will be ending its year of centenary celebrations with the performance on Sunday.
It will start in St Peter’s Church at 3pm with the visit of the Angel Gabriel to Mary and audience, actors and musicians then plan to walk down Moorhead Lane to the Countess of Rosse pub, where they will be told there’s no room at the inn.
The shepherds will meet with the angels at the end of Kendal Avenue and a group of carol singers will be gathered in Nab Wood Drive.
The three kings will join the party at Nab Wood Grove before walking to a stable owned by members of the congregation nearby to find the baby Jesus and enjoy some refreshments.
Vicar of St Paul’s the Reverend John Rainer said: “We will be holding our more traditional events and services as usual but we wanted to do something different as well for the centenary year.”
Anyone is welcome to join in. They should take a torch.
