Anything you can sing, I can sing better…that’s what Bradford City’s goalkeeper Simon Eastwood and defender Luke O’Brien seem to be saying.
The ace penalty saver and last season’s Player of the Year will be among the players and staff at a carol service in aid of the club’s £100,000 Burns Unit appeal at Bradford Cathedral tomorrow night.
Luke said: “It would be nice if the public came along – all the players and staff will be there. There will be the chance to meet the players and all the coaching staff afterwards.
“It’s for a good cause and everyone will be welcome. It’s a festive time of year, so it should be a good turn out.”
All proceeds will go to the Burns Unit appeal which, at the moment, stands at just over £25,300.
The club say they hope the appeal will hit £30,000 by New Year’s Eve, so if you fancy singing along to your favourites, such as Once in Loyal Stuart’s City, Oh Come All Ye Bantams and There is a Green Field Far Away the time is 7.30pm tomorrow night at the Cathedral.
Tickets cost £5 and are available from Valley Parade on (01274) 773355.
Next spring the Burns Unit appeal will benefit from a World Cup Warm-Up charity dinner at Valley Parade featuring Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock.
The former Spurs, Liverpool, West Ham and Crystal Palace defender will be talking about his career, his marriage to a Page Three girl, and his appearance on I’m a Celebrity.
Tickets for the dinner, on April 17, cost £40 and £55, with proceeds going to the Bradford Downs Syndrome Group and the Burns Unit. For details call 07870 177329.
