Word reaches us from BILL SANDERSON, of Keighley, who is looking for help putting together a reunion of his wartime pals.
Bill writes: “I was on a destroyer sunk at Crete in 1941 along with Lord Mountbatten’s ship, HMS Kelly. My ship was called HMS Kashmir.
“Is there anyone in the area from our flotilla – it was the 5th? The flotilla was made up of eight destroyers, HMS Kelly, HMS Kashmir, HMS Kipling, HMS Kingston, HMS Javelin, HMS Jersey, and two others.
“There was also another shipmate I was with on the Suez Canal. He used to drink in the Ring O’Bells pub.”
