Brighouse Police Station will reopen to the public by the end of the summer.
The helpdesk was closed as part of cost cutting measures introduced by West Yorkshire Police three years ago.
It is re-opening its doors for a trial period of six months, and the public’s use of the station will be monitored.
One of the reasons the station helpdesk was originally axed was because footfall has fallen to less than 100 people a week.
If the pilot proves popular the force said “every effort” will be made to make it permanent.
Calderdale Divisional Commander Chief Superintendent Alan Ford said: “We have asked the community what they want and the answer has been to reopen the station.”
Hours are yet to be finalised, but it is expected to be open Monday to Friday, 1pm–7pm.
Audrey Kemp will man the reception with the help of a police officer.
Councillors Colin Stout, Joyce Cawthra, Keith Watson, Howard Blagbrough and Diane Park from Calderdale Council issued a joint statement thanking the police for their efforts in bringing a manned station back to the town.
