Work is continuing in Roberts Park, Saltaire, during a £4.5 million improvement scheme which will enhance the historic riverside attraction.
The project is on schedule for a grand opening of the new-look park which is planned for Easter 2010.
Bradford Council’s executive member for environment and culture, Councillor Anne Hawkesworth, said: “The refurbishment plans for The Boathouse will really complement the restoration scheme taking place in Roberts Park and once completed, will provide a great addition to the attractions already in Saltaire.”
The Saltaire Bandstand series of concerts have been temporarily moved to a new venue while the upgrading happens. This year’s series of popular Sunday afternoon concerts, from 2.30pm to 4pm, will be at the grounds and café of Saltaire United Reformed Church.
The May Creek Alley Western Dancers will start this year’s performances on May 17, with singing group Hot Aire on July 5. GMC Jazz will be at the café on August 2 and Hall Royd on September 6.
