Photographs of Ilkley, Harrogate and Avebury in Wiltshire – the location of Stonehenge – are currently on show at Shipley’s 1920s- themed Interlude Café.
That’s the place in Westgate with the Charlie Chaplin figure outside and home-made cakes inside. Upstairs is an exhibition space and that’s where Elisabeth Jennings’s photographic landscapes can be found.
The pictures of White Wells, the Cow and Calf rocks, Harrogate’s Valley Gardens and much else may also be purchased, from between £6 and £30.
Elisabeth (pictured left), who lives in Burley-and-Wharfedale, is currently on a government course which she hopes will help her to set up as a full-time self-employed photographer.
She took all the photographs over a period of about three weeks. She explained the subject matter of her exhibition.
“I live near Ilkley. The Cow and Calf rocks and White Wells are among my favourite walks. Whenever I go out I take my camera.
“One of my school-friends now lives in Avebury, so when I visited, I took some pictures,” she says. The Avebury ones are in colour and consist mainly of sunsets.
“I have had a few commissions. The course ends in April, then it’s a matter of seeing if there is enough work to make full-time photography viable.
“I have done film-extra work and office jobs in the civil service. I would like to photograph weddings, events and pet portraits, because I love portraits," she adds.
Elisabeth Jennings’s exhibition at Shipley’s Interlude Café is on until the end of January.
