The mother of a man who died in an accident on a Bradford building site has funded children’s projects in his memory.
Judith Allen, 43, of Highfield Road, Keighley, held fundraising events in the name of her son, Steven, who died in March last year. Mr Allen, 23, known as Stiggy, suffered severe head injuries in an accident on a new waste-recycling centre in Manningham.
He had worked for Skipton-based engineering company JN Bentley since he was 16.
He was a keen footballer and Mrs Allen said she wanted to let people know where the £2,500 raised had been used. Our Lady of Victories Primary School, which Steve attended, bought a pair of mobile goalposts and £2,000 was given to a trust which takes disabled children to Lourdes, and a charity that provides emotional support to parents of children with a congenital condition was given £200.
