A young business from Bradford has been selected to represent the city in a shortlist of the region’s 50 most promising young science and technology businesses.
Gapfillers has been chosen to exhibit at the Innovation Showcase at Venturefest Yorkshire in February, where it will compete to win a business support package worth £15,000.
Gapfillers is a community website for adults interested in learning English and other languages. The business was launched in 2006 by former teacher Bernadette Wall with the support of Bradford Kickstart. The site won the Yorkshire Digital Award for best E-learning initiative in 2008.
Venturefest Yorkshire is a free, one-day expo of science, technology and knowledge entrepreneurs.
More than 2,000 people are expected at the event at York Racecourse on February 11.
