The chairman of Addingham Allotments and Gardens Association, Bill Preston, has asked parish councillors to alter the leases of village allotment holders.
He told them that if people gave up their allotment the people taking over should be able to start work on the land earlier than March, when the leases run out.
At their next meeting parish councillors will discuss altering the leases to end in January instead.
