Craven College’s Centre for Travel and Tourism has played host to an official from Air Malta.
The airline is hosting students from the Aviation Academy for two weeks in summer 2010 on work placement.
The academy is a training facility based at Leeds-Bradford International Airport and was initially funded by Yorkshire Forward.
Students on the Btec national diploma in aviation operations will make formal applications for the job roles prior to going out to Malta.
They will shadow air traffic control, flight operations and check-in staff.
Centre manager Tina Gale said: “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Air Malta and hope this will prove to be a long and fruitful relationship.
“Work placements provide a valuable learning experience for the students to underpin their studies in a real working environment in a foreign country.”
Principal Alan Blackwell said: “Our students will be enriched by this great opportunity and we hope in the long term that this will lead to a wider collaboration across the college.”
