Dog owners face court action if they allow their pets to run free and foul a community space.
They have been warned to keep their animals on a lead at all times in Glusburn Park.
The parish council is carrying out a crackdown and offenders will have no excuse if they get caught because there are signs laying down the rules.
Judith Naylor, the parish clerk, said: “We have at present many dog owners going to the park and letting the dogs run free and leaving everything that the dogs may do in the park.”
Anyone caught with a dog off the lead will be reported and prosecuted.
