The scene after the alert at T J Hughes
Dozens of police officers were scrambled to a city centre store today over an alleged bomb scare.
Officers closed a section of Sunbridge Road and several police cars could be seen parked up outside TJ Hughes.
Business bosses and shoppers gathered on the streets around the scene to watch the drama unfold.
Police are yet to give official details of the incident, but onlookers said they had been told it was a bomb scare.
