The former chief executive of Bradford-based supermarket group Morrisons, has joined the board of Leeds Building Society as a non-executive director.
Bob Stott (pictured), was joint managing director and chief executive of Morrisons from 2002 until his retirement in 2006.
Mr Stott joined Morrisons in 1973 after ten years with Pedigree Petfoods. He was appointed to the main board in 1977 and became deputy managing director in 1983. In 1987 he left to become managing director at Geest Wholesale Services and later Geest UK Banana Division before returning to the company in 1996.
He was re-appointed to the main board in 1997 as buying director and became joint managing director in March 2002.
Mr Stott, who was educated at Huddersfield College Grammar School, is also a non-executive director of the Rugby Football League governing body and lives in Leeds.
Mr Stott said: “I am delighted to be joining the Board of this highly successful building society.”
