Measures that have achieved improvements in income, productivity and customer satisfaction have scooped an award at Yorkshire Bank and its sister organisation Clydesdale Bank.
The commercial development and payments team at the banks saw off competition to win a top change management award at the Institute of Financial Services Finance Innovation Awards.
They received the ‘Most Effective Cultural Transformation – Change Management’ award.
The award recognised efforts made by employees and management in developing the team’s culture and morale, which has improved performance. Throughout 2007, the banks’ CDP team implemented initiatives aimed at engaging staff around an agreed vision to improve the working environment.
The measures led to a 21 per cent increase in income, a 200 per cent rise in the number of employees enjoying flexible working, a 34 per cent increase in customer satisfaction and a 21 per cent rise in productivity.
Peter Myers, head of commercial development and payments, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the team, acknowledging their hard work, enthusiasm and commitment to drive the culture of the business forward over the past 12 months.”
