Loud-mouthed pub regulars bellowed at the top of their voices in a bizarre fundraising stunt – in the name of charity.
Known as a Paaawooo night, about 100 drinkers packed the Star Inn, York Street, Bingley, and took it in turns shouting “Paaawooo!” for a charity donation.
The contestant making the longest and loudest sound on the night won a prize.
Bingley businessman Stewart Clarke donated £1,000 towards the total of more than £1,200 raised by the competition and a raffle.
Chris Lee, owner of the Star Inn, said: “It was a brilliant night, everybody had a really good time.
“I’d like to thank everybody for turning up.”
The money will be split between deaf charities and leukaemia research.
Mother-of-three Anne Louise White, Mr Lee’s niece, died of leukaemia at the age of 38.
