An independent driver recruit-ment firm in Bradford has been celebrating after being appointed as an approved supplier to courier delivery network Parcelnet.
The deal will see Drivers Plus, based in Low Moor, assume responsibility for providing HGV drivers to three of Parcelnet’s operations within the Yorkshire region.
Parcelnet is the UK’s largest home delivery network, collecting and delivering more than 100 million parcels and packages annually for some of the best known retail brands including Next Directory, Readers Digest, Lakeland Limited and Boden.
Drivers Plus director Richard Oldfield said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Parcelnet to undertake this project and are looking forward to developing our existing relationship.
“The company is stringent in its high level of service delivery and chose to appoint us due to the high levels of drivers we provide, all of whom must undertake a compulsory assessment before we will place them.
“This is something that’s unique within the industry and really helps us to stand out from the competition.”
Established in 2003 the firm specialists in the placement of HGV class 1 and class 2 drivers throughout West Yorkshire.
Parcelnet trunk manager David Steinberg said: “We are committed to employing the highest calibre of responsible, safe and qualified drivers for our fleet operation.
“This partnership with Drivers Plus will ensure that our driver needs are met, supporting the ongoing development of the business.
“We have appointed Drivers Plus based on both the service levels they have provided us with over the last three years and the high level of driver they supply.”
The Drivers plus team delivers a service tailored to clients’ individual requirements – from providing a driver for a day at short notice, to a master vendor agreement.
All new and existing drivers with Drivers Plus must also pass a practical assessment day to a minimum required level before they are placed with the firm says ensures clients can be confident that they are receiving highly trained and qualified drivers.
