Replica weapons and drugs were seized by police during dawn raids today.
Two adjoining properties in Buttershaw Drive, Buttershaw, Bradford, had their doors broken down by uniformed and CID officers at 8am yesterday.
A third property in the area was also raided. All three houses are said to be linked to one individual, who was not present at the time of the raids.
Detailed searches of the premises were conducted and sniffer dogs were deployed at the scene.
Detective Inspector Mabs Hussein, of Bradford South CID, said: “The raids were part of Operation Christmas Crime Crunch and resulted from community intelligence received regarding the occupant of the addresses.
“The raids were carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act and are part of an ongoing operation to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in the Bradford South area.”
“One arrest was made for possession of cannabis,” said Det Insp Hussein.
“Another person linked to the addresses will need to be questioned in relation to the seizure of replica firearms – an air rifle and replica handgun – and other offensive weapons. We gained valuable intelligence that will aid the ongoing investigation.”
Det Insp Hussein said: “This was a very successful operation and reassures the community that we act on information received. The ongoing operation has been running for ten days now and we are averaging 20 arrests a day for a variety of offences including burglary, vehicle crime and drug-related offences.
“It is about ensuring that the residents of Bradford South have a safe and enjoyable Christmas without being the victims of crime.”
