A huge pile of waste from stables at a farm caught fire yesterday.
The fire at 3pm at North Street Farm, Thackley, measured 30 metres across.
Idle and Shipley firefighters spent two hours putting out the blaze.
A spokesman for Idle fire crew said: “It was what had been turned out from the stables and there was a smaller pile set alight not too far away so it looked like it had been done by children.
"It mainly smouldered more than anything else, but these fires are quite unpleasant when you think of what is being thrown away and they take a long time to put out.”
