A Concert for the Heart, Voices and Brass in Concert, featuring The Aire Valley Singers and Wilsden Band, is set to be a highlight for the incoming president of the Rotary Club of Bradford West.
Tony Caunt will be made president of the club tomorrow.
He has chosen as his charities for the year the coronary care unit at Bradford Royal Infirmary and the British Heart Foundation.
Mr Caunt, of Wilsden, suffered a heart attack on June 15, 2006, and said he wanted to give something back to the “wonderful” doctors and nurses on ward 22 who nursed him back to health.
Sue Green, fundraising manager and volunteer manager for the British Heart Foundation, said: “We are very pleased to be involved with the Bradford West Rotary Club.
“We look forward to this fantastic event to raise vital funds for the British Heart Foundation and ward 22 at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
“We have an excellent relationship with the BRI cardiology department and have provided funding for equipment in the past and we hope that we are able to provide further equipment in the future.
“We would not be able to do this without the support of the people in the Bradford district.”
The concert takes place on Saturday, October 18, from 7.30pm at Bradford Cathedral.
Tickets are £7 and will be available from the end of August from Mr Caunt on (01535) 273709 and the British Heart Foundation. Sue can be contacted on (01274) 584324 or email: greens@bhf. org.uk Sovereign Health Care, Yorkshire Building Society and Salamander Brewing Co have all helped with donations to offset the costs of staging the concert.
