The Member of Parliament (MP) for Shipley, Anna Dixon, has written to schools in her constituency to recommend that they sign up for a government free breakfast club program.
The free breakfast clubs, set to launch from April 2025, will provide breakfasts for schoolchildren and also, according to Ms Dixon's press office, "30 minutes of quality childcare in the morning."
The MP's press office said that Ms Dixon "has written to every primary school in Shipley constituency," 26 schools in total, encouraging them to apply to participate in the program's rollout.
Ms Dixon said: "Speaking to parents in my constituency, I know how valuable getting help with breakfast and childcare around the school day can be.
"These clubs will help to break down the barriers to opportunity for children in Shipley constituency by putting resources in place to ensure that none of our children will begin the school day hungry anymore."
