A CAFE with a "big heart" hopes to win a best coffee shop in Bradford award.
The Telegraph & Argus recently launched its Best Coffee Shop 2024 competition.
Readers were asked to share their favourite venues and the nominations have now been whittled down to the final 10.
We are aiming to profile each of the finalists.
Today we are highlighting Copper & Moss which is located in Victoria Mills on Salts Mill Road, Shipley.
'Our customers are more like friends'
Owner Laura Bell says the support from her customers "means the world".
"We’re thrilled! So happy to be nominated and I'm so proud of the team for making this place what it is," she said.
"We’re so grateful to all our lovely customers for their support—it really means the world to us. This just makes us even more excited for the future.
She added: "Our customers are more like friends to us.
"We love getting to know them and many have become a big part of our lives over the years.
"We look forward to catching up with them, chatting about their day, celebrating milestones, or just having a laugh. We’re lucky to have such a wonderful community."
A small team with a 'big heart'
Laura opened Cooper & Moss in March 2021 to "bring the community of Victoria Mills and Shipley together".
As a resident of Victoria Mills herself, Laura wanted to "create somewhere welcoming and cosy to meet neighbours, get some work done, or relax with a coffee or cocktail".
Asked what she feels will help her cafe win the award, Laura said: "We’re a small team with a big heart!
"Me, my mum, and head chef George have been working together since day one and have grown an incredible team over the years to create a place that’s all about good vibes, great food, and even better company.
"Whether it’s your first visit or your 100th, we love meeting you, catching up with you, and making sure you have the best time possible every time."
Copper and Moss uses local independent suppliers such as Castroni Coffee, Martinez Wines, and Binns Butchers.
The cafe also hosts open mic nights, mum to be socials, live music, quiz nights and will soon be starting craft evenings.
