The launch yesterday (November 28) of 'We Built this City,' an exhibition celebrating Bradford's iconic buildings and their architects, reportedly went well.
The exhibition, located at the Bradford Industrial Museum and set to run until March 2025, was co-curated by the Bradford Society of Architects and Surveyors, and commemorates the Society's 150th anniversary.
The display, which was launched at a celebration event at the museum, provides an insight into the history of the city's architecture, including details of architects and surveyors, from 1874 to the present day.
A pop-up exhibition was also unveiled, which gives more information about the history of the Society - including a timeline featuring past presidents and their involvements in the building of Bradford.
The launch event was attended by Society members and architects from across the North.
Bradford Society of Architects and Surveyors was founded 150 years ago by 18 local professionals - including Henry Lockwood and William Mawson, who were the architects for Bradford Town Hall, the Wool Exchange, and Saltaire.
Members originally had to be ‘gentlemen,' but that rule has since been abolished.
Apart from the main exhibition, the smaller, pop-up exhibition will be travelling to venues across Yorkshire over the next six months.
