AN elderly man was rushed to hospital after firefighters rescued people from a crash.

West Yorkshire Police was called at 6.18pm yesterday to a report of a collision in Kensington Street involving two vehicles.*

Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) received an emergency call at the same time and sent an ambulance and critical care paramedic to the Kensington Street/Girlington Road area.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) said it was called to a "small RTC" at 6.21pm.

They added: "Crews supported in rescuing trapped persons before handing over to YAS."

A 76-year-old man was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary as a precaution.

Police are investigating the crash and have issued an appeal for witnesses.

"We were called to a report of a two vehicle collision on Kensington Street at 18.18 yesterday (28 November).

"A 76-year-old man was taken to hospital as a precaution.

"Enquiries into the collision remain ongoing.

"We received an emergency call at 6.18pm yesterday evening (Thursday 28 November) to report a road traffic collision in the Kensington Street/Girlington Road area of Bradford.

"An ambulance and a critical care paramedic were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to Bradford Royal Infirmary."
