A CAR was engulfed in flames on a busy main road this afternoon.
The blaze occurred on the A6068 at Cowling, close to the Park Lane junction.
Emergency services were in attendance.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service was alerted to the incident at 3.30pm.
One crew from Skipton fire station attended. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames, and made the scene safe.
There were no reports of injuries in the incident.
Currently no information is available regarding the cause of the fire.
