THE opening date of a new Bradford supermarket has been announced.
Food Warehouse will open in a long-empty unit at Woodhall Retail Park in Thornbury on February 11 at 8am.
Last month Iceland announced it would be closing down its current branch at the retail park and opening a much larger store under its Food Warehouse brand in the vacant unit next door.
The company has said the current store’s existing staff will move over to the new unit, and more jobs will be created by the move to the bigger premises.
That store was most recently occupied by the Bargain Buys discount store.
A recent planning application to Bradford Council for work to the building revealed that the Food Warehouse store will have 10 full-time and 30 part-time staff.
Large sections of the frontage of the unit have now been removed as workers convert the property to Food Warehouse.
Work is also underway to create EV charging points in the retail park’s car park.
