Ways to "improve the health and social needs of the population, and reduce health inequalities," will be discussed at a conference tomorrow (November 27) by representatives of health, social care, and community organisations in Bradford.
The event, led by the Centre for Population Health, a think tank that bills itself as "help[ing] to make improvements across the health and care system," will take place at arts and community venue Kala Sangam.
The event aims to showcase some of the work being carried out locally by health and voluntary sector organisations to improve lives and help address health inequalities.
Professor Durka Dougall, CEO of the Centre for Population Health, said: "We are delighted to be bringing the conference to Bradford as it’s a place dedicated to communities and tackling health inequalities.
"Population Health is focused on making improvements to our population’s health and wellbeing through collaborative working between our health, social care, and community partners, for the populations and communities we serve.
"It focuses on four shifts: preventing the overarching causes of ill health, improving services, ensuring support closer to home, and, importantly, tackling the unfair and the stark health inequalities that exist."
The conference will take place from 8.30am until 4.30pm.
