A ranking of crimes per constituency in the last year, by CrimeSpotlightUK, has seen Bradford West rank in twelfth place overall.

The constituency, whose MP is Naz Shah, had 23,096 crimes.

The constituency also ranked sixth for violence and sexual offences, sixth for public order offences, and tenth for drug offences.

In terms of overall crimes, Cities of London and Westminster came in first place in the ranking with 89,446 crimes reported in the last year; Birmingham Ladywood came in second place with 38,111 crimes; and Holborn and St Pancras came in third place with 36,090.

Lawrence Newport, of CRUSH CRIME, said: "This data from CrimeSpotlightUK paints a terrible picture of crime in Bradford West.

"Britain has seen an explosion in phone thefts, shoplifting, and robberies.

"The majority of these offences are committed by a tiny number of career criminals.

"We know the solution: jail career criminals to crush crime rates by up to 90 per cent.

"We need to use our limited prison space effectively.

"The government must take career criminals off our streets - giving police more powers to pursue them, and instructing judges that the more crimes someone has committed, the longer their sentence must be."

In 40th place for overall crimes was Bradford East (whose MP is Imran Hussain), with 18,142 crimes.

In 48th place was Bradford South (whose MP is Judith Cummins), with 17,440 crimes.
