University of Bradford students and staff are to participate in pieing, karaoke, a twelve-hour netball shootout, and more to raise funds for recent graduate Magali Zaffater, also known as Mags.

Mags, who is still heavily involved with the University of Bradford, received her diagnosis of a right frontal lobe tumour last month.

In response, students and staff across the university have come together to fundraise across a variety of events to be held in the newly opened Student Social Space, in Student Central Level 2.

The events will take place this week and kick off with Pie’d Off Bingo! on Tuesday at 10pm (BelowOne), when participants can spend £1 to pie various members of netball and cheerleading squads - with bids to pie others, including university staff.

On Wednesday, a charity netball shootout, for twelve hours, will take place in Student Central; and at 11pm in the Escape Lounge, the Weekly Student Night will see sports teams turn blue in recognition of Yorkshire’s Brain Tumour Charity.

Thursday will feature a charity bake sale (Student Central), as well as Ouch! Charity Waxing and Bingo!, where the Rugby League team will be waxed for charity (BelowOne, 10pm).

Friday brings Bradford’s Got (No) Talent! (BelowOne, 10pm) and a charity basketball match (2pm).
