STAFF and students are celebrating after it was confirmed their Bradford secondary school continues to be 'outstanding'.

Dixons City Academy, on Ripley Street, was inspected by education watchdog Ofsted on October 15 and 16.

A glowing report released today said the school - which is part of Dixons Academies Trust - has "taken effective action to maintain the standards" which were identified during its last inspection in 2018, when it was rated 'outstanding'.

Ofsted commended the setting for "realising its aspiration to offer pupils an exceptional education".

Inspectors noted the academy has a "rich community" with students valuing the "diverse beliefs" within it.

Students and staff "love learning", according to the report, which also highlighted the school's "high expectations for all pupils" and how it "successfully helps pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to excel in all subjects".

Ofsted praised the academy's commitment to providing a "wide range of subjects to study" and said students "benefit from an impressive range of wider opportunities that develop their talents and interests".

It was also found that "behaviour is excellent" and, because students understand what is expected, they "successfully get on with their work".

Raouf Mohammed, principal at Dixons City Academy, said: "Our whole community works incredibly hard to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

"This Ofsted report has found that our academy continues to maintain the 'outstanding' standards of which we are so proud.

"This report reflects the continued energy and dedication of every member of staff, all our brilliant students and the support we continue to receive from Dixons Academies Trust.

"We remain committed to providing our students with an excellent, inclusive education that prepares them well for their next stage in life.

"We will continue to work hard to foster an enriching and empowering learning environment that ensures all our students have excellent outcomes."

Luke Sparkes, school and college trust leader at Dixons Academies Trust, added: "We have always been clear that providing the best education possible is what drives us, not Ofsted judgements.

"However, we are delighted that Ofsted has recognised the excellent education Dixons City delivers - well done to the entire school community at Dixons City Academy.

"This Ofsted report reflects the commitment of our brilliant staff, tenacious students and supportive families.

"As a trust, we will continue to support Dixons City to unlock the doors to success for every student."
