AN emergency siren for a Bradford business will go off next week.
Solenis, on Cleckheaton Road, Low Moor, announced today its siren will be tested on Thursday, December 5 as part of its legal obligations.
The siren will go off at 10am and 8pm that day.
It is something that the specialty chemical company does throughout the year, with a test last taking place on June 6.
The sound is one of increasing and decreasing pitch and will operate for one minute on each occasion.
A spokesperson for Solenis said: "There is no need for members of the public, who hear the siren, to take any action.
"The emergency services have been informed of the test sounding of the siren.
"Residents living within the Public Information Zone around the Solenis site at Low Moor received a leaflet giving details of this test early in 2024.
"However, if neighbours are new to the area or have lost the leaflet and would like a copy please contact Solenis.
"The test sounding is being carried out as part of the company’s obligations under the Control of Major Accident Hazards Regulations 2015 (COMAH Regulations)."
