A TEENAGER has been convicted for having a knife and cannabis at a block of flats in Bradford.

Raheem Johnson, 18, of Buchan Towers, in Radwell Drive, on the outskirts of the city centre was sentenced for two offences at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on November 6.

These were possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place and possession of a controlled drug of Class B - Cannabis/Cannabis Resin.

He pleaded guilty to the charges at the same court on September 24.

Johnson was caught carrying a knife without good reason or lawful authority at Buchan Towers on August 2 this year, according to court records.

He also had cannabis on him.

The court handed Johnson a community order for the offences.

He must complete 300 hours of unpaid work in the next year and also attend up to 30 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days.

The 18-year-old was also ordered to pay £199 in total, which includes costs of £85 and a £114 surcharge to fund victim services.

An order was made for the knife and cannabis to be destroyed.
