A POPULAR Bradford restaurant chain has announced plans to expand as bosses aim to open two new branches in the next year or so.
International, which already has a restaurant in the city centre on Morley Street and another on Sticker Lane, has told customers to "watch this space".
It comes after its flagship restaurant on Morley Street won the Telegraph & Argus' Best Curry House 2024 competition.
numerous awards both locally and nationally.
Since opening in 1976, under the stewardship of Mohammed Bashir and Abdul Rehman, the popular eatery has scoopedInternational's top dishes include the Chicken shashlik, King Prawn Grill, and the Chicken Nawabi Khana, which features 21 ingredients in a special masala sauce with coriander.
Several celebrities, famous names, and politicians have visited International over the years, particularly in the 80s and 90s.
Some of the names to visit more recently include former footballer Michael Owen, as well as ex-England boss Gareth Southgate.
The eatery only opened its Sticker Lane branch in December 2022 and it has already proven to be a huge success, claiming the Best Restaurant prize at the Curry Life Awards 2023.
It took over the site from The Three Singhs, offering space for up to 300 diners over two floors, a 150-space car park, a large bar, and a waiting area at the front.
It is this that has encouraged Mr Bashir's son Safeer Khan, who now runs the show, to look at even more locations across West Yorkshire.
Mr Khan told the Telegraph & Argus: "International Restaurant is planning on opening two more restaurants in the next 12 to 15 months.
"Leeds and Wakefield are where we are looking and some locations have been identified so watch this space."
Mr Khan has also announced a special deal following International's T&A award win.
On every Monday in January, customers will get 30 per cent off their total bill.
"There are no terms and conditions. Just maximum 10 people per booking," he said.
"Do come and enjoy this great offer from the team at International - this offer will be available at both our branches in Morley Street and Sticker Lane as well as takeaway collection and deliveries (over-the-phone orders only, not via any other platform)."
