THREE Bradford district schools have decided to delay their starts this morning due to icy conditions.
Keighley St Andrew's CofE Primary School & Nursery, on Lustre Street, Grange Road's Riddlesden St Mary's Primary, and Merlin Top Primary Academy, on Braithwaite Avenue, will open later this morning.
Riddlesden St Mary's says "sheet ice on the way to school" have forced them to push back their opening until 10am.
The morning nursery will remain closed.
A post on the Bradford Council website said: "Unfortunately, we will be delaying opening until 10am today due to sheet ice on the way to school and despite gritting the school grounds, we are still in the position of being unable to open safely.
"Morning nursery will remain closed.
"We will reassess the situation at 9am and send parents an update."
Meanwhile, Keighley St Andrew's will not open until 9.30am this morning.
Another post on the council website added: "Due to the icy roads and travel conditions school will have a delayed start.
"School will open at 9.30am for pupils on Friday, November 22."
Merlin Top Primary will also not open its doors until 10am.
A post on the council website read: "Unfortunately, we will be delaying opening until 10am today due to icy conditions surrounding the school and on site.
"Despite gritting the site, the site and surrounding areas remain unsafe under foot.
"We will reassess at 09:00 and update parents."
