Bradford Bulls sponsors Nathan and Daniel Varley, of Metalcraft & Varley’s Builders Merchants, have joined the club’s Investment Group, with the former also taking a place on the club’s Board of Directors.

Bradford Bulls chairman Nigel Wood OBE said: “We are delighted that Nathan and Daniel have agreed to join and further bolster and strengthen our Board & investment group.

“Both brothers have been great friends and sponsors to the club since our return to Odsal.

“Their passion to see the Bulls return to the elite of rugby league is there for all to see.

“As a former player of the club, Nathan knows rugby league inside out and is a terrific addition to the Board at this time.”

Bradford Bulls’ chief executive officer Jason Hirst was equally as delighted as Wood about the appointment, saying: “I echo our chairman’s comments.

“This additional investment is further testament of the club’s resurgence and upward trajectory and it unquestionably strengthens our ownership group and club.

“Both Daniel and Nathan are Bradford lads who remain hugely supportive of our attempts to return our club to its former glories.

“The 2025 season promises to be an extremely exciting one, with even more fans backing us following the hugely popular announcement of club legend and rugby league icon Brian Noble as our head coach.

“The team and club are at its’ strongest for a decade and the more fans who come to watch us, the greater chance of success and a return to Super League.

“So, for those who haven’t already done so, I urge as many people as possible to back Brian, back Bradford and back the Bulls by purchasing a 2025 Season Ticket ahead of the Early Bird deadline on Saturday, November 30.”

Bradford are aiming to get back into Super League for the first time since 2014, knowing what they achieve off the field is as important as results on it.

Back when Nathan Varley was at the club as a player, Bulls were beginning to establish themselves as a force in Super League.

The young prop largely played for Bradford’s alliance side, but he left the club when that ceased to exit.

Aged 21, he left Odsal in 1998, joining Sean Cooper, Graeme Shaw and Jason Clegg, three of his former Bulls team-mates, at Second Division Oldham.

Shaw won two international caps that same year for Scotland, while Clegg went on to spend two seasons with Keighley later in his career.

As for Nathan Varley, he soon moved back to Bradford to play amateur rugby league with Queensbury, where he is widely regarded as one of the best players to have featured in the blue and white for the club.
